Goa – The Land of Golden Sand
Someone rightly said that Jammu & Kashmir is heaven on earth, so rightly it can be said about the “land of beaches” Goa. You can never get bored of its sunny beaches, green countryside, its colorful songs, dance, tradition, great seafood , wine, magnificient churches, forts make you to come here over and over again.
Something similar I felt when I visited the land of beaches and a unique place of tradition, Goa. The moment you enter in Goa, it feels like you are not in India anymore. My stay at Goa was during the festive time of Christmas and New year which added extra grandeur and charm to the celebratory mood of Goa. You can go for adventure sports to deep sea diving to sight-seeing and cruise. My god! I still remember my ride on cruise which made me realize what real Goa is all about.
Best moment for me in Goa was Para-sailing which cannot be explained in words and to know the feeling, you just need to experience it. Fort Aguada and lighthouse built in 17th century Portuguese fort, standing in Goa on Sinquerim Beach overlooking the Arabian Sea, is unbelievably beautiful. If I have to describe about the best place in Goa to spend a beautiful night, it would be a candlelight dinner near a beach where you can watch waves coming by, stars twinkling up high in the clear sky which makes you just lose all of you in that moment. You just want to admire the beauty of nature and you want it to never to come to an end and after the dinner, walking on the beaches with your loved ones.
Another beautiful place to be in Goa would be St Francis of Assisi and the Basilica of Bom Jesus containing the relic of Saint Francis Xavier.
The market of Goa is one of its kind in India with diverse shops and antique art pieces of wood.
If one wishes to visit Goa, I’d recommend them to go by road as it is a beautiful adventure one can witness for a lifetime. There are a lot of beautiful things in world it is just that you have to open up your eyes and experience and capture the moment as it is, such that it stays with you for entire life.
